Now you see it now you don’t

It’s dark out (hence the somewhat cryptic title) and I can see the lights on in other buildings in the business park. In fact I can see lights pretty much all the way on my drive home. That’s 18 miles through Lincolnshire countryside. There is something not right about that.

I quite like the dark nights though even if they do make you think it is going home time around 4pm and then you find out there is an hour and a half still to go.

The dark nights make the living room seem nice and cosy, especially with a fire lit in the grate which I might do tonight. Who needs central heating?!

Tonight I’m picking a couple of the kids up from orchestra rehearsals on my way home. It makes me feel good to do that. It makes me feel I’m doing my job as a dad and that they are keeping to their side of the deal by attending the rehearsals in the first place.

As I think of it I do need to pick up a needle valve to pump up a basketball. Should have done that at lunch time. Hmmm. The basketball hoop is just above the back door which has a large pane of glass in it. Not ideal but the only place we could find to put it.

When we get home we will quite possibly have a family meal. This is not normal during the week as I am usually back too late and the kids will have eaten. That’s life Jim.

I might even pick up my geetar tonight. I’ve been practising with our 14 year old trumpeter who is also developing a competency on the piano. He is a better musician than me despite my 35 year head start. No matter. That’s a good thing 🙂

You have been reading some laid back musings with no reference whatsoever to communications technology. Have a good evening and see y’all tomorrow…

PS I didn’t think it was worth bothering adding any SEO keywords etc in this post.  Ooops that’s tech talk! 🙂
