dinner with Jeff Pulver
Remember Free World Dialup? Well FWD was the first global Internet Telephony Service Provider and it was the brainchild of our guest at this dinner, Jeff Pulver.
I have known Jeff, who was the organiser of the Voice on the Net or VON conferences since the early days of the VoIP revolution and he has been kind enough to agree to come over as keynote speaker at the ISP Summer Forum during the afternoon of 29th June.
Jeff is a very interesting guy. He has invested in over 400 startups which include Vonage, a name we are all familiar with. He was also an early stage investor in Twitter and has been influential in helping many tech startups that are familiar names today. This evening is going to be worth attending.
Jeff continues to pioneer with his MoNage conference. Monage.io is all about “the future of conversational web, chatbots and messaging. We all followed where Jeff was going with VoIP. We should be taking note of his movements with MoNage.
This dinner is being given in honour of Jeff’s visit to the UK and in appreciation of his acceptance to speak at the ITSPA Summer Forum. There is a dress code at this evening event. You need to be wearing a Hawaiian shirt (if you know Jeff you will understand why) or be liable for a round of drinks (there will be 24 of us and I will ask you to buy a round). Shorts are not required but don’t let me stop you…
The form for these dinners, which now number well into double figures, is that Chatham House Rules apply. You will be surrounded by your peers in industry and quotes are not attributable. A good time is guaranteed as is a high level of networking. Only C Level individuals or very senior people from larger organisations are invited. Attendance is by invitation only.
18.30 for drinks, sit down at 19.30. I’d book a hotel if I were you as we are likely to go on late. Ticket prices are a little higher than normal so that we can celebrate in appropriate style. Netaxis will pickup any tab over and above the cost of the tickets (over and above the contributions made by those who turn up without Hawaiian Shirt of course). I am also pleased to have Oracle onboard as sponsors for the evening.
Attendance at this dinner is by invitation only. If you want to come please get in touch.
