The Harrison H4 timepiece and other historical nautical memorabilia (the Cutty Sark)

Sometimes you get the opportunity to see something totally historic – like the Olympics for example. On Saturday I saw two things in the same afternoon that were in the same league. First of all the Cutty Sark was hugely impressive. Then we went to the Royal Observatory and saw the Harrison H4 timepiece. It was a lot smaller than I had imagined and a fraction of the size of its H1 – H3 predecessors. I could have stood there a lot longer than the impatience of offspring allowed.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about look em up. Here are some photos – slightly different perspective to normal:

And finally the H4.

  1. Matt Russell says:

If EE’s roaming pricing is as fair as the £5 flat surcharge suggests, I’ll switch over my current contract from Orange to EE.

Not much in the way of info for existing Orange customers so far…

  2. Trefor Davies tref says:

It would be a no brainer but I can’t see it being that good a deal. We shall see. How can they expect people to sign up if they don’t tell them the whole deal though?

  3. Tacitus says:

I agree EE is a totally rubbish brand name. Why don’t they try E2 (O2 might object)or E squared – can’t do superscript on here.

  4. The fishing Gardener says:

That’ll be Mr Siero then. Based upon the web site contect, he will probably make more money out of selling the domain, than he will giving advice to Electrical Engineers!

  5. Stephen says:

I have just come to the end of my 24month contact with Orange and they can’t better the deal I am on (iPhone 4 – £15 a month 300min, unlim text, 500mb data. oh and with my orange credit card that makes it £10 a month)

So its a rolling contract for me I won’t be jumping for 4g yet, Will wait for the prices to get better first :)
