Netaxis at quo vadis

Netaxis are a European centre of excellence for VOIP services for network operators. They have a list of blue chip telco and large enterprise customers for who they provide support, system integration and a variety of essential services such as Network Monitoring, fraud detection and mitigation and self provisioning portals. Netaxis are also at the forefront of Fixed Mobile Conversion in the markets in which they operate.

This dinner is being arranged by trefor.net to announce Netaxis to the UK Internet Telephony community. It is an informal opportunity to meet senior Netaxis stakeholders. It is also an opportunity to enjoy dinner at a top Soho venue in the company of your peers.

The guest list for this dinner comprises the main players in the UK internet telephony community. These trefor.net dinners are normally paid for by the attendees. On this occasion attendance is free of charge courtesy of Netaxis.

Ordinarily we have a guest speaker at these events. This time Manuel Basilavecchia, one of the founders of Netaxis, will talk about what is happening with Fixed Mobile Convergence in mainland Europe. The dinner conversation will continue, as is normal at these events, to flow onto other subjects under Chatham House Rules.

More about Netaxis

Netaxis are a VoIP centre of excellence in Benelux. They are, in my mind, a very impressive company. Netaxis are essentially a group of highly skilled telecoms engineers who have over time developed a suite of tools to help them do their job and which is now in use by a wide range of telcos and corporates.

Blue chip partners and customers

The main portion of the Netaxis business has been supporting Telecom Operators (eg KPN, Belgacom, Mobistar, Tele2, Telindus P&T Luxembourg) and large corporates such as banks (eg ABN Amro, ING, Achmea, Rabobank, UWV) with their VoIP strategies. For example KPN’s SIP trunking product is both specified and implemented by Netaxis into the KPN Enterprise customer base.

This can often involve the integration of multiple PBX and hosted PBX types (eg Broadsoft, Genband et al) across many sites employing Session Border Controllers as the “glue”. Netaxis have certified engineers for a wide range of equipment vendors: Oracle, Sonus, Broadsoft, Genband, AudioCodes, Cisco UC Manager, Microsoft Lync and Avaya Radvision.

For their implemented solutions Netaxis provide 24 x 7 1st and 2nd line support including full spares management and on site visits.

Essential Tools

In providing these services Netaxis have built a range of tools that make their job easier, their customer’s life easier, and save the customer money.

Nemo Network Monitoring toolset – Engo active fraud mitigation – PIE self care & provisioning system – Dory VoIP simulator and traffic generator.

These are not third party tools. They have been developed by Netaxis themselves based on a real needs come across during many project implementations.

The fact that they have deep development skills as well as system integration and support makes Netaxis a pretty unique partner when it comes to solutions for telecoms operators. Tech covered includes VoIP, LTE, Video, IMS, NGN, WebRTC, RCS, Security, SBC, SIP trunking and Lync.

This can be seen in the Fixed Mobile Convergence solutions that are currently being implemented for a number of operators in Benelux and which will be the focus of debate at this Netaxis at Quo Vadis dinner.
