I have just taken possession of notatthisaddress.net. The .com and .co.uk were taken but I’m cool with that. I’m a .net kinda guy. This to me is a cool domain name and must have loads of uses. I thought about using it as my default address for registering at tradeshows. Myname at notatthisaddress.net sounds good, snoop cocked, spam avoided.
However I’m beginning to think that is a sheer waste of a good domain name and I figured that you dear blog readers might have better ideas. There are thousands of geeks out there with great ideas who might be able to suggest some good uses for it.
Usual prize of a Timico Megamug for any good suggested uses unless I’m meeting you in person soon in which case it could mean a beer. If you’re teetotal I’ll drink the beer and you can have an orange squash.

I registered pointless.domain.name and another.domain.name long ago (back when all .name registrations still had to comprise of two words) but never really found anything witty to do with them, so let them lapse.
In general, domain names seem far less important now than they did 8-10 years ago
If I don’t want spam I use [email protected]
The mx record for loopback.mydomain.com is 127.0.0.1 🙂
Phil, Phil, Phil, I’m looking for constructive positive feedback, not negativity:) I need imagination, creativity, ambition:))
A charity shop – www. no tatt hi sad dress .net
Base domain – fishery protection / anti-poaching (plays on the “.net”)
“k.” sub-domain – a macrame / lace club (a somewhat tatt[er]ed reference)
“x.” sub-domain – a forum for discussions about non-electronic, non-sports games
“y.” sub-domain – a forum for philosophy and ethics discussions
Extend your idea of [email protected] for others to sign up to for a email which goes nowhere, but you store the email for a month, so users can log in to have a nose – its a true your aSAAS solution – ‘anti Spam As A Service’…..to add to the hypocrisy by selling ad space on the domain for users logging in to check on their adverts to sign up for more useful email for their @notatthisaddress.net account …
Some good ideas here guys plus one or two via email from people who clearly want to keep the IPR between me and them 🙂
I quite like the idea of being able to sign up for an email address that doesn’t actually do anything. We shall see 🙂
… or just didn’t want their name associated with a dodgy business scheme 🙂
